Winter portraits – Irish Eyes Photography, Downtown Hingham MA

Back before Christmas, a Hingham mom reached out to me and asked to have portraits of one of her daughter’s taken. For whatever reason, they had portraits of their other kiddo but needed some just for this awesome kid. So on a cold day, we walked around beautiful Downtown Hingham and had a ton of...

Irish Eyes Photography Community Photo Challenge Week #19: Gray

When I first put this challenge out into the group, it was “grey.”  It was pointed out that most Americans (and so far, all participants are American) spell it “gray” so I changed it.  How do you spell it?  I’ve always spelled it with an ‘e’.  I don’t know why but it makes more sense...

Irish Eyes Photography Community Photo Challenge Week #14: Pattern

Every week is different.  Some challenge words are more abstract, and some are very visual – like colors, or, in this case, the idea of patterns.  I thought this would be a really fun (and relatively easy) one for people to cozy up to; there are patterns EVERYWHERE!  I love how people embraced this one....

Teenage Acting Headshots – Hingham MA

Five years ago, I walked into rehearsal for A Taste of Broadway – a yearly musical revue that I’ve been a part of for a long time. Four younger girls were rehearsing a number from Matilda.  Some were faces I knew, some weren’t.  The number was absolutely fantastic and I was blown away.  Ever a...

Irish Eyes Photography Community Photo Challenge Week #12: Hands

I’ve always been fascinated with hands.  Not just hands – but how differently each pair handles things.  Everyone touches in a unique way and I love that.  I used to love the way Mister Rogers would hold a wooden block or toy – or a paper cup.  He was always so gentle.  Of course, that...

Irish Eyes Photography Community Photo Challenge Week #10: Green

After a few weeks of more challenging…challenges, I decided to give people a break and do another easy one.  Everyone seemed to love doing a color challenge, so I decided it would be a color.  But which one?  Since Saint Patrick’s Day was smack dab in the middle of the week, the color green won! ...

Irish Eyes Photography Community Photo Challenge Week #7: Soothe

There are still so many souls that are healing from not only large scale national events, but quiet personal events too.  Last week we photographed what makes us feel safe.  This week I wanted to continue with this healing idea and so I asked for what’s soothing to you.  I have to tell you, if...

Irish Eyes Photography Community Photo Challenge Week #4: Light

Winter can be dreary and dark sometimes.  With the flu running rampant everywhere, we’ve all had bouts of having to stay confined to our homes as well as dealing with the hum drum of the dead of winter.  It was time to focus our attention to something a little more uplifting.  And what’s more uplifting...

Irish Eyes Photography Community Photo Challenge Week #2: Winter

We’ve got another great week for the photo challenge!  This week’s theme was ‘winter.’  In this area of the world, the beginning of the week offered snow on the ground and plenty of wintery scenes.  But by the end, thanks to an insane amount of rain, snow was a lot harder to find.  This forced...

Four Generations – Canton MA – Irish Eyes Photography

Copyright Infringement.

This morning I awoke to a message from a client.  The same message she’s had to send me a number of times.  You see, an image I took of her son has become very widespread on the interwebs, but not in the right way.  Here’s the link to the original story. This time, someone turned...

Some words.

Hello. It’s been a while.  How are you?  Are you well?  Are you ready for the weather to STAY nice?  I’m itching for weather nice enough for open windows.  I’m excited for the nights where it’s warm enough to have the office windows open while I work so I can smell the cool night air...

H Family – Beacon Hill, Boston MA – Irish Eyes Photography

Well. This is one of my most favorite sessions ever.  A beautiful fall evening in Beacon Hill with an insanely good looking family – it’s a photographer’s dream shoot!  And, it was really fun. Transplants to the Boston area, the H family wanted some truly Boston portraits.  Where better to do that than Acorn Street...

Got a camera for Christmas and want to learn how to use it? Have you had a camera since ten birthdays ago and you STILL don't know how to use it? Are you just loving photography and want to learn more to better your skills? Well I've got the classes you're looking for.

I offer Beginner and Intermediate classes for grown ups and kiddos alike. Classes are for ages 10 and up. I separate the beginner classes into age groups (10-14, 15-18, 18+) so people can feel the most comfortable with their peers. I also offer private classes for the introverts out there!

Classes are usually in the winter/spring. In addition to scheduled classes, if you want a private class, or, have a group of friends that want to take a class together, we can plan that out. Just call or email me to let me know what you're looking for and I will make it happen! (It IS possible to have classes scheduled in the Summer or Fall but it's just trickier to schedule. So get in touch if you have a desire!)

All classes take place here at the studio in Downtown Hingham MA. At times we do take a walk around the area to stretch our photography skills but we don't venture too far.

Classes are limited to 7 students per class to keep things easy and afford everyone a chance to ask plenty of questions.

Subjects covered:

-COMPOSITION

-manual settings (ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed)

-lighting

2019 classes:

adult beginner - march 16th from 10am-3pm

tween beginner - sunday mornings 10am, march 24th, 31st, april 7th, and 14th.
