Christmas Mini Session #2 - Little Sweetheart

After those two sweet sisters left, in walked this little lady.  Another new client to Irish Eyes Photography, she found me because her mom and I went to high school together!  Not only was I so excited to photograph this gorgeous girl, but I was so looking forward to this appointment so I could see my sweet friend after OVER TEN YEARS of being out of touch!  That is just crazy.

The reunion was awesome and we can't wait to get together again now that life has brought us back together.  And then it was time for some pictures.

Can you deal with her gorgeous eyes?  I can't.

For these shoots, I had a number of different backgrounds and a huge collection of holiday themed props.  Almost every group picked this backdrop - the sparkly stars were just too awesome to turn down I guess!  I  just love how bright and exciting they made my set (which was in my garage by the way.  Amazing what some backdrops and floors can do to a drab old garage)!Everyone should be tangled in lights at least once every holiday season.  That's my opinion anyway.

Since it was a GORGEOUS day, we also ventured outside where I had some balsam and holly trees setup around a bench.   Sometimes they were decorated, sometimes they weren't; it was up to each client.  The kids had a blast decorating the trees and playing with the banners I made for the occasion.  I was so thrilled to see them enjoying themselves.  Allowing them to play with all the props resulted in some pretty natural smiles.   For this shot, our little sweetheart placed each decoration you see exactly where she wanted it - maybe she has a career as a set designer ahead.  When she was quite pleased with their arrangements, she sat and smiled.  Love it.

But the be-all-end-all hit of the weekend, for almost every single client, was the glittery snow.  It was the grand finale and every kid FLIPPED over it.  Play with glitter?  YES!  Make a mess?  YES!  Have so much fun getting to do something I could never do at home?  YES YES YES!    I sat each kiddo down and gave them a very serious job - they had to hold the glitter and not do ANYTHING until I was ready with my camera.  And then when I said it was OK, they were to blow the glitter right in my face!  Each kid took this job v-e-r-y -- s-e-r-i-o-u-s-l-y and it resulted in some serious fun!I think she enjoyed herself.  :)

(By the way, isn't her Christmas dress just STUNNING?!)

Thank you, dear high school friend, for coming back into my life and for bringing this little sweetheart with you.  I can't wait for our playdate.

Next up, another pair of sisters!-Kerry:)
