At Home with the C Family - Teasers - Waltham MA - Irish Eyes Photography
These days, every time a client books me for a family portrait session, I try to suggest an at home lifestyle session. They're so lovely. Where better to capture YOU as YOU are than in your own home? It's comfortable, it's candid, it's real. I like real. In the case of the C Family here, it's also awesome because this is their first house. They plan to move in the near future. This session captures them living in this beautiful space. When Baby A is older, she'll get to see what her room looked like, what her living room looked like, etc. And Mum and Dad can look back at these and remember all the hours spent in their (gorgeous) nursery, rocking Baby A to sleep, singing to her, playing with her. It's a delightful little bonus. :)I had a really hard time picking teasers from this session because I like all their images so much. So, this is a bigger teaser post than usual. Lucky, lucky you.The C Family is one hell of a good looking family. They even look good smushed!!! ;)The C Family has a beautifully decorated tiny little house. They have done an unbelievable job of decorating it so perfectly that it seems spacious and comfortable yet Mum here says it only takes 15 minutes to vacuum the entire place! Color me jealous. I truly loved their home and all the choices they made within it.Isn't Baby A just too adorable?! I love that second shot with her bending over on the chair. I love that Mum's hands are right there open and ready to catch her, yet also letting her be adventurous and climb away. What a beautiful representation of motherhood. These Adirondack chairs are a big part of the C Family's outdoor living experience, so they definitely had to make it into a portrait. The sun was H-O-T that day. Baby A (and her parents) rallied well though. As is usually the case, Baby A didn't take her normal nap before the photo shoot. So, she was EXHAUSTED by the end. I stuck around and nabbed some shots of their naptime routine. A bottle and a cuddle from Mum, and then off to sleep with both parents looking on. These are some of my favorite shots of the day. So lovely. Such memories to hold on to.Not sure if I like this one better in black and white or color. What are your thoughts? That's about how big my smile is when my kids sleep, too. :) This was a truly lovely shoot to be a part of. If you're considering a portrait session, think about the possibility of a lifestyle shoot. Your house doesn't have to look perfect (even though in this case here it does). Let's capture your reality. Those are the memories you'll cherish!-Kerry:)
