The Y Family - Irish Eyes Photography

Yesterday we met Max and saw how awesome he is at posing for his senior portraits.

After Max's senior session, his family joined us for some family portraits.  It was a gorgeous evening and their home was the perfect backdrop.

My friends, meet the Y Family.Irish Eyes Photography Young 2014-3269

This next one is for if they ever start a band and need an album cover.  ;)

These two above and below are my absolute favorites.  Not only do I love how happy and relaxed everyone looks, but I love the dusky lighting and, the warm glow from their home behind them.  Lovely.

I said to them, "Let's take some that AREN'T posed.  What do you do when you just hang out at home?"

They usually sit around this part of the porch, candles glowing, and relax.  "Ok!" I said.  "Let's get the candles!"  We caught a few candid ones and then they said they do this a lot; it's sort of like a "go team" thing.  Of course, I asked them to do it for me:Irish Eyes Photography Young 2014-3250

I love this.  I love that they're a team.  These folks here... they've had some serious journeys together.  Some scary journeys that might make some buckle.  But these guys?  They're in it together.  They're a team.  And they are strong.

I LOVE THIS.

Also, I really love the smile on Dad's face.  So genuine.

It was five years ago when I first worked with the Y Family.  When Mom contacted me about this senior/family shoot, she had a few ideas for location.  I mentioned how lovely her home was last time, and, if we used it again, we could do some really fun comparison shots.  She (and the rest of the gang) really loved that idea, so, during the shoot we recreated some of the shots from five years ago.  It's so fun to see how they've grown, how their yard has changed, and, personally, how my photography has changed.  Let's just say I think I got a bit better since 2009.

The kids were a little too old for lap-sitting this time around, so we made a few alterations to this one.  I like this year's posing a lot; LOVE the sassy look Little Sister has going on.  She is fiercely awesome.  I quite enioy hanging with this kid.

And there you have it.  The Y Family.  They totally lucked out and got more teasers than usual thanks to the old/new comparison shots.  :)

What do you think?  Would you recreate poses from photo shoots past?  I thought it was a lot of fun! Thanks for hanging out with me again, Y's!  You're fabulous!-Kerry:)
