Saint Patrick's Day Photoshoot With Rosie Mae - The Outtakes

Yesterday I posted some fun shots of Rosie Mae all decked out in shamrocks to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day this month.I promised you some ridiculous outtakes.I always make good on my promises. :)But first, a less ridiculous photo. You see, my vision for the shot I would eventually use was Rosie Mae standing up in a completely white background in this outfit. She would hopefully be doing something hilarious. And then in the white background where there was negative space, I'd write, "Happy Saint Patrick's Day." Much like I ended up doing with the couch as a background. Yes, sometimes you have to alter your vision for what's do-able. Rosie Mae can stand on her own for about 30 seconds and then plops down. So, since this photo shoot was just her and I without Mike or someone else around to spot her, I had to go with a safer idea. I toyed with the idea of her holding onto something in the photo, but I didn't want anything else to clutter up the picture. So, I turned to my trusty white couch for the shoot. At one point though, she did stand up in front of the couch, so you can sort of get the idea of what I was originally going for. Only difference is, she'd be facing completely forward so we could see her adorable Carter's shamrock love shirt:

(And there wouldn't be a cat butt, a lamp, a headband, her toy camera, a coaster, and a play mat in the photo. See what clutter does???)

And now, the real outtakes...

This was the very first shot I took.

Then she realized this tutu I put her in is actually pretty interesting...This one cracks me up. It's a head scratcher.Back to the tutu...ME: (Arms raised above my head) Rosie Mae, say, "Happy Saint Patrick's Day! Yay!"

ROSIE MAE:

ME: You're nuts!

ROSIE MAE:

Then began the all-too-infuriating tango of Rosie Mae wanting to play with my camera. She'd continue to try to climb toward me (even if there was no sofa left to crawl on - when the heck does depth perception kick in?!?!) and I'd have to plop her back on the couch in a seated position. This happened approximately two hundred and fourteen times. This happened. ME: Rosie Mae! Get back here! What are you doing?!

ROSIE MAE: But Mum! I gotcha a coaster!

Obsessed with the tutu.

Finally, the not-so-subtle hint that this photo shoot was over:

Taking pictures of other people's kids is so much easier. :)-Kerry:)
